Precautions for motor installation

  1. When moving the motor, do not use a rope to put on the shaft or collector ring or commutator to move it, and do not lift the motor through the end cover hole of the motor.

When installing the motor, motors with a mass of less than 100KG can be lifted to the foundation by manpower; heavier motors should be hoisted into place by cranes or pulleys, hand winches and other tools.

The foundation for the motor installation must have a certain degree of rigidity. If it is not installed together with other machinery, both sides should use reliable quality concrete as the foundation, and the installation surface should be flat. For motors that need to be moved frequently, a suitable installation structure should be used. If the installation foundation does not have sufficient rigidity or the structure is unreasonable, abnormal vibration and noise will be generated during the operation of the motor, resulting in bearing damage, and serious personal or equipment accidents.

  2. If there is a difference in the center height between the motor and the traction machine, when the motor needs to be raised, the area of the gasket must be larger than the area of the motor's foot plane. When the gasket needs to be adjusted with several pieces, the number cannot exceed three.

  3. When the motor is driven by gears, the installed gears must match the motor, and the longitudinal and transverse dimensions of the shaft must match the size of the installed gears. The installed gears must match the transmission gears, such as modulus, diameter, tooth shape, etc.

  4. When the motor is driven by pulleys, the diameters of the two pulleys must match and should be installed as required. The large and small pulleys cannot be replaced incorrectly, otherwise it will cause an accident. The two pulleys should be installed in a straight line and the two shafts should be installed flat, otherwise it will increase the energy loss of the transmission device, damage the belt, or cause a belt-off accident.

  5. When using a coupling for transmission, the motor shaft centerline must coincide with the load shaft centerline. Sufficient clearance must be left between the motor coupling and the load coupling to prevent the entire system from generating axial force due to thermal expansion during operation, which may damage the motor bearings and ultimately the motor.

  6. During installation, please make sure that all mounting holes are firmly locked with steel bolts and nuts. Stainless steel bolts should be used in places prone to rust, and shockproof pads should be installed in high-vibration places.

  7. Pay attention to motors with drain holes and avoid misalignment. When the drain holes are open, necessary protection must be ensured to prevent any objects from contacting the inside of the motor.
